Available Dance Styles

Tiny Toes:
Designed for the youngest dancer!  Dance to music and learn early dance moves in our half hour class. This class does not perform in the annual recital. 

Ballet/Tap/Jazz (Slashy Classes):
Designed for young dancers to learn two styles of dance in one class. Dancers will perform at the annual recital in one style of dance. Must have shoes for each style of dance.

Hip-Hop:
Dancers will learn high energy dance moves to popular music. 

Jazz:
Jazz incorporates a variety of styles that borrows from ballet and develops stylistically.  

Tap:
Tap technique and repetition will be emphasized in this class. Emphasis is on rhythm, style, and clarity of sounds produced using tap shoes. 

Ballet:
Ballet is a classical dance form characterized by grace and precision of movement and by elaborate formal gestures, steps, and poses.  Ballet is the foundation to every style of dance.  All dancers are encouraged to enroll in Ballet.

Pointe:
This class is devoted to working on strengthening techniques to progress into Pointe shoes.  Dancers will learn a Pointe routine for the annual recital. The instructor will decide if a student is ready to take part in the class. All students must be enrolled in  two Ballet Classes.    Pre-Pointe must be enrolled in at least one Ballet class.  Two is highly recommended. 

Contemporary:
Dancers will explore a combination of Ballet and Jazz with an emphasis on Ballet technique. Students are required take a Ballet class when enrolling in Contemporary.

Tumble:
This class will develop flexibility.  The student will use tumbling moves while dancing to music.  All tumbling is done on the floor on mats.  We will work on flexibility tricks, dance, and flips. 

Modern/Improv:
Dance that is focused on an inner emotion of a situation in place of technique. Dancers will explore spontaneous dance movements in this class. Great for the dancer who wants to learn more about choreography. 

Flex/Tech:
This class is designed for all students who would like to become more flexible and strengthen core muscles with an emphasis on dance technique. This class does not take part in the annual recital.

Musical Theater:
This class combines acting, singing, and dancing to classic and modern musicals from Broadway productions.  Dancers may need to learn various styles of dance.  The teacher decides which style for each class every year within the first few months.  Students will perform a musical theater piece at the annual recital.

Irish Step:
Irish Step Dance offers students the opportunity to dance to the music of Ireland. This class will perform in our annual recital.

Zumba:
This class is for adults who want to “Ditch The Workout And Join The Party!”.  Zumba is a dance fitness class.   NO DANCE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!  This class will tone you and help you lose body fat. You can be in any shape to join this class.  Do what you can, or push yourself to the next level! THERE IS NO WRONG IN ZUMBA! All Zumba teachers are Zumba certified! An optional Zumba demo may be performed at the annual recital.

Yoga:
This class teaches breathing techniques and strengthening at the same time.  All Yoga teachers are Yoga certified!  This class does not perform in our annual recital.

Pilates:
Pilates is a form of stretching that lengthens your muscles, as opposed to bulking up.   All Pilates teachers are Pilates certified! This class does not perform in our annual recital.

Boot Camp:                                                                                                                      This Class is designed to help lose weight and gain strength. You will use little to no weights.
